CIC bioGUNE Management Team visits FAES Farma’s new production plant in Derio
Following the recent visit of the Development and Innovation Management team from FAES Farma to CIC bioGUNE, a delegation from the center - composed of General Director José M. Mato and Scientific Director Jesús Jiménez-Barbero - has made an institutional visit to the new production facilities recently inaugurated by the pharmaceutical company FAES Farma in Derio (Bizkaia).
This meeting marks another step forward in strengthening the collaboration between two key institutions in the fields of biomedical research and pharmaceutical innovation in the region. During the visit, CIC bioGUNE representatives were welcomed by FAES Farma’s management team, who provided a comprehensive tour of the new facilities, highlighting their technological capabilities, production processes, and quality control systems.
FAES Farma’s new plant reflects the company’s strong commitment to excellence and continuous innovation. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, the facilities align with the company’s strategy to expand production capacity and reinforce its efforts in developing new therapeutic solutions to address global health challenges.
Throughout the visit, both organizations reaffirmed their shared commitment to close collaboration, promoting knowledge transfer, and accelerating the development of new treatments. The discussions held during the visit allowed the teams to explore potential areas for future cooperation, with the common goal of addressing major health issues through science and innovation.
This reciprocal visit further consolidates the relationship between CIC bioGUNE, member of the BRTA, and FAES Farma, underscoring the strategic importance of public-private collaboration in building an innovative, competitive, and socially committed biomedical ecosystem.
