CIC bioGUNE hosts Portuguese delegation as part of the Erasmus+ professional mobility program

A Portuguese delegation visited CIC bioGUNE with the objective of gaining insight into its administrative and organizational management practices. The meeting facilitated a productive exchange of experiences and laid the groundwork for potential future collaboration.

CIC bioGUNE, member of BRTA, welcomed a delegation from Portugal as part of a professional mobility initiative under the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.

The visiting delegation, composed of professionals with strategic and technical responsibilities, represented NOVA.id.FCT, a private non-profit research organization committed to advancing science, technology, and innovation. Operating within a dynamic, multicultural research ecosystem, NOVA.id.FCT brings together over one hundred researchers engaged in high-impact research, training, and knowledge transfer.

The primary objective of the visit was to gain in-depth insight into the organizational, administrative, and strategic operations of European research institutions. During their stay at CIC bioGUNE, the delegation had the opportunity to learn about the center’s internal procedures in project management, financial oversight, human resources, and procurement processes. The visit facilitated the exchange of experiences and best practices, as well as reflection on shared challenges in the management of research and innovation projects.

The programme included a series of meetings with key personnel responsible for research support areas at CIC bioGUNE. These sessions provided a platform to explore tools, methodologies, and strategic approaches aimed at improving efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing the execution of nationally and internationally funded projects.

The NOVA.id.FCT delegation expressed their appreciation for the structured and effective management model implemented at CIC bioGUNE and underscored the value of the job shadowing experience in inspiring potential improvements within their own institutional context. The visit also opened up promising opportunities for future collaboration between both organizations, reinforcing their shared commitment to international cooperation in science and innovation.

With this initiative, CIC bioGUNE reaffirms its dedication to strengthening transnational partnerships, promoting continuous improvement in R&D management, and advancing inclusive, open science that addresses today’s societal challenges.
