Boosting NK Cells for Cancer Therapy

Laura Amo

Boosting NK Cells for Cancer Therapy Natural Killer (NK) cells play a central role in anti-tumor immunity due to their diverse cytotoxic mechanisms and ability to modulate immune responses through cytokine production. The use of NK cells as immunotherapy has shown great potential in hematological cancers, although their efficacy against solid tumors remains limited. Given that NK cells exhibit high plasticity, our research focuses on developing strategies to enhance their effector functions against solid tumors. Collectively, our findings underscore the translational potential of NK cell-based combination immunotherapies to overcome current challenges in the treatment of cancer.
