Metabolic Reprogramming in Cancer Progression: Making the difference

Patricia Altea Manzano

Metabolic Reprogramming in Cancer Progression: Making the difference As the disease progresses, tumor cells undergo dynamic phenotypic changes, which require metabolic adaptations to meet their changing requirements. Recent work demonstrates that the metabolic properties and preferences of tumor cells change during cancer progression. Thus, there is an emerging view of cancer metabolism as flexible and context-specific. I will discuss how metabolic phenotypes evolve as cancer progresses in different environments to fuel proliferation, invasion, and growth as a secondary tumor as well as potential therapeutic implications.
