CIC bioGUNE's CODE OF ETHICS AND CONDUCT

CIC bioGUNE Code of Ethics aims to establish the expected best practices of integrity, responsible and transparent behaviour of all CIC bioGUNE employees, while performing their everyday activities and in their professional relationships.

The Code aims to translate CIC bioGUNE’s corporate values and principles into desired behaviour, taking as a starting point the organisation’s culture and the Association’s commitment to ethics and transparency.

FIGHT AGAINST FRAUD AND CORRUPTION

Through the Institutional Declaration of zero tolerance against fraud, approved by CIC bioGUNE, the Association undertakes to maintain the highest standards in compliance with legal, ethical and moral norms and to adopt the principles of integrity, impartiality and honesty, implementing a zero tolerance policy for fraud and corruption.

For this reason, the main objective of the institutional declaration is to promote an ethical culture within the organization that exerts a dissuasive effect for any type of fraudulent activity and that makes its prevention and detection possible.

Committed to good governance, under the principles of ethics and transparency, as well as to the proper management of community funds, especially those from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, CIC bioGUNE counts with an Anti-Fraud Measures Plan.

ETHICAL CHANNEL

The Ethical Channel is the communication channel between CIC bioGUNE, its stakeholders and society in general, through which anyone can notify possible breaches of the Code of Ethics and Conduct, to guarantee good practices and integrity in the Association.

Only notifications relating to the Code of Ethics and Conduct will be attended.

The Notifications Form can be used to submit doubts and/or complaints related to the application of our Code of Ethics and Conduct, as well as report any possible breach or violation contrary to ethics, legality and the rules governing the Association.

This communication platform complies with all the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations and the Organic Law on Data Protection and the Guarantee of Digital Rights.

All communications made through this Ethical Channel management platform will be confidential.

Under no circumstances shall the Ethics Channel be used to make malicious, unfounded notifications or notifications lacking evidence to support the investigation, processing and subsequent resolution of the alleged breaches reported.

CHANNEL CONDITIONS OF USE

  • Messages must not contain offensive language.
  • CIC bioGUNE will use the necessary means to guarantee both the confidentiality and protection of the whistleblower and the right to honour of persons who may be accused of contravening the Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • It is guaranteed that there will be no retaliation or any kind of negative consequences for the whistleblower, provided that he/she acts in good faith.
  • Decisions on how to proceed with an investigation or when to dismiss reports are taken in a traceable (documented) and scheduled manner.
  • All notifications received are treated equally, regardless of who the sender is.
  • Queries or complaints relating to strictly labour matters, dispute resolution or issues relating to harassment at work or gender will not be processed through the Ethical Channel. Such queries and complaints must be communicated through other usual channels, in accordance with the procedures established by CIC bioGUNE for this purpose.

In relation to facts that may constitute fraud or irregularity linked to projects or operations financed with funds from the European Union, in addition to the internal Ethics Channel, the channel set up for this purpose by the National Anti-Fraud Coordination Service may be used.
